Why AbleVerse exists, in numbers

More than 1 in 4

adults in America lives with a disability

38.1%

of working age adults with a disability are employed, versus 74.8% of everyone else

It has never been about willingness to work.
It is about access.

For job seekers

Show what you can do. Skip the paperwork.

Job boards were built on walls of text. Your AbleVerse profile works like a highlight reel: scroll it like social media, watch it like a story, and share it with one tap.

Meet employers in 60 seconds

Introduce yourself with a short captioned video or a photo story. Employers meet a person, not a stack of paper.

Skills employers search for

Show a skill once and AbleVerse matches it to the words employers search for, from cash handling to inventory to guest service.

Endorsements that count

Supervisors, teachers, colleagues, and the people who support you vouch for you right on your profile. Recommendation letters that never get lost.

You choose what you share

You decide what goes on your profile and what an employer sees. Nothing is shared without your OK.

Built alongside the people who support job seekers and the counselors who know both job seekers and employers.

For employers

Hire for the job you actually have.

Companies want to hire and worry about getting it wrong. AbleVerse takes the guesswork out: post the need, see demonstrated skills, and meet candidates who fit the work.

Post a need, not a job ad

Check off the skills the role needs, the schedule, and the location. Five minutes, done.

Matched on real fit

We pair your role with people who have demonstrated those exact skills, and a person weighs the fit of every match.

Skills, work samples, and how each person works best

You see abilities, work samples, and endorsements, plus how each person works best.

Show your inclusion

Display your AbleVerse Employer badge and show candidates and customers that your commitment to inclusive hiring and disability employment is real.

Companies that lead on disability inclusion had 1.6x the revenue and 2.6x the net income of the other companies in that index.Accenture and Disability:IN, The Disability Inclusion Imperative, 2023

How it works

Three steps. Zero gatekeeping.

1

Show

Job seekers build a visual profile with captioned videos, photos, and endorsements. No resume required.

2

Tell

Employers post the skills, schedule, setting, and pay range a role really needs. Every posting shows its pay range. Five minutes, no jargon.

3

Match

AbleVerse pairs people to roles on demonstrated skills and accommodation fit. Both sides say yes before anything more is shared.

Matches share skills, availability, and work samples.

Partners and advertisers

Advertising that funds the mission.

AbleVerse, the disability employment platform, stays free for every job seeker because the model is built for mission aligned partners to fund it. Sponsorship will buy advertising space, and those dollars will fund the mission: visibility in front of a loyal community, and it keeps the matches free.

Our pledge: one quarter of all ad space is reserved for nonprofits, free. And every month, one nonprofit partner gets a sitewide spotlight on us.

Mission & Marketplace

More than one in four American adults lives with a disability. Among working-age adults with a disability, fewer than four in ten are employed, and it is not because they do not want to work. Job boards were built to filter people out with walls of text, dense forms, and unwritten social rules. AbleVerse is built to let people in, matching people with disabilities to accessible jobs.

Why "AbleVerse"? Two small words with room for everyone inside them. Verse, as in diverse: every kind of mind, body, and way of working. Verse, as in universe: a whole world of talent that hiring was never built to see. And able, because that's what people have been all along. We didn't reframe disability. We just dropped the "dis" and built the platform that proves it.

We are building a hybrid: a marketplace where employer memberships and sponsors fund a nonprofit mission, so the platform stays free for the people it serves. The need never went anywhere.

And the work? It can be anything. Talent belongs everywhere, from the corner cafe to the film studio.

Founded in Connecticut

Built alongside the people who support job seekers, and the families, employers, and self advocates who live disability employment every day.

The Triple Match

One match. Three benefits.

One match creates something for each side, and the person looking for work never pays a cent.

1

Job seekers

Free, always. No fees, no paid tier, nothing to pay at any point.

2

Employers

You post what the job actually needs. You see people matched on skills, and every posting shows its pay range.

3

Sponsors and the community

Sponsors buy advertising space, and those dollars fund the mission. Companies worth working for get seen, and nonprofits we admire get promoted at no cost.

One rule: job seekers never pay. Not now, not ever.

Accessibility

Built accessible, on purpose.

Accessibility is not a feature here. It is the whole point. AbleVerse is built to meet WCAG 2.2 AA, and paid testers with disabilities will audit every release before it ships. Nothing about us without us.

Questions, answered

Straight answers about AbleVerse.

What is AbleVerse?

AbleVerse is an accessible job platform that connects people with disabilities to jobs at competitive wages. Job seekers show what they can do with visual profiles, video, and demonstrated skills instead of text resumes, and employers describe the work itself: the schedule, the environment, and the skills it takes. Matching runs on fit.

Is AbleVerse free for job seekers?

Yes. Always. Employer memberships and sponsors fund the platform, so the person looking for work never pays a cent.

Has AbleVerse launched yet?

Not yet. AbleVerse is in its earliest chapter: the waitlist is open, and the first matches will be made by hand in Connecticut before the full platform opens.

How does AbleVerse decide who matches a job?

People do. AbleVerse pairs candidates and roles on demonstrated skills and accommodation fit, and humans make every decision. AI on AbleVerse only removes barriers, like plain language help and interview preparation. It never screens anyone out.

Is my information safe with AbleVerse?

Yes. Today the site collects only a name, an email, and a role through the waitlist form. Nothing is ever sold or shared for advertising. The full privacy promise lives at ableverse.org/privacy, in plain language.
