Free for job seekers. Always.

Our mission

Match the best person with a job.

"We just need to match the best person with a job. That's it."
Ren Burkardt, founder and CEO

That is the whole mission, in our founder's words. Everything else on this page is how we hold ourselves to it: what we measure, who owns the mission, where the money comes from, and why we start by hand.

Why AbleVerse exists

It has never been about willingness to work. It is about access.

Job boards were built to filter people out with walls of text, dense forms, and unwritten social rules. AbleVerse is built to let people in, matching people with disabilities to accessible jobs.

Among working-age adults 16 to 64, 38.1% of people with a disability are employed, versus 74.8% of everyone else.US Bureau of Labor Statistics, People with a Disability: Labor Force Characteristics, 2025 annual averages

What we measure

Success means the match lasts.

A placement is not where success stops. What matters is that months later the person is still in the job, still paid a competitive wage, and glad to be there. Exactly how we will publish that measure is a decision we have not made yet, and we would rather leave this space honest than fill it with a number we have not earned.

Who owns the mission

The nonprofit owns the mission.

AbleVerse is structured so the mission cannot be taken away from the people it serves. The nonprofit owns the platform, the brand, and the mission itself. There are no investors waiting to sell the company, and nothing about the model depends on charging job seekers.

In plain terms: money comes into AbleVerse to fund matches. Matches do not exist to bring money into AbleVerse.

Where things stand legally today: AbleVerse, Inc. is a Connecticut nonstock corporation, formed in August 2026. Our application for federal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status is in preparation. We are not accepting donations at this time.

The Triple Match

One match. Three benefits.

One match creates something for each side, and the person looking for work never pays a cent.

1

Job seekers

Free, always. No fees, no paid tier, nothing to pay at any point.

2

Employers

You post what the job actually needs. You see people matched on skills, and every posting shows its pay range.

3

Sponsors and the community

Sponsors buy advertising space, and those dollars fund the mission. Companies worth working for get seen, and nonprofits we admire get promoted at no cost.

One rule: job seekers never pay. Not now, not ever.

Concierge first

We start by hand.

Before there is a feed or a dashboard, there is a person. The first matches will be made by hand in Connecticut: a person who reads every profile, talks with every employer, and makes every decision. AI on AbleVerse only removes barriers, like plain language help and interview preparation. It never screens anyone out.

100

Starting in Connecticut. On purpose.

Strong things start small, local, and real. Our first 90-day pilot builds 100 visual profiles and matches them with 10 founding employers, supported by the supported employment and vocational networks we come from. We learn from every match. Then we grow.
